2016 Sagemoor Chardonnay

One of the oldest vineyards in Washington State planting started in 1968 today Sagemoor has over 1,100 acres of grapes planted. Sagemoor Farms lies 10 miles north of the City of Pasco. The Vineyards are on bluffs overlooking the Columbia River with a southern exposure. This is a warm site as sites go in Washington State with natural cooling effect of the Columbia River. Being a warmer site, the wine is a bit softer with bigger mouth feel than the Chardonnay we make from Wyckoff vineyards in the Yakama Valley a cooler site. The wine was barrel fermented stirred on the lees, for 3 months in a combination of one and two year old French and American oak barrels. The American oak barrels are specially coopered for Chardonnay. This Chardonnay as well as the other Chardonnays we offer will be a great accompaniment with the Thanksgiving turkey or just by itself.
