Get a Certificate or Degree

Body

Curious about studying your passion? We get it.

A lot of our students started exactly that way- from a place of curiosity. There's no wrong way in, and no pressure to map out the whole journey before you begin.

Explore the Possibilities

Who this is for

Our certificate and degree programs were built for:

  • Newcomers taking their first real steps into the wine industry
  • Working professionals sharpening their skills and keeping current with the trends
  • Enthusiasts who simply want to know wine more deeply, for the love of it

You can take classes one at a time or stack them toward a credential. Most are offered evenings or online, so they fit around a daytime job. And you choose your direction: Wine Production or Marketing & Sales of Food & Wine.

A wine education, without the closed door

Wine education has a reputation for being expensive and exclusive, the kind of thing reserved for people who already have a foot in the door. We're the opposite of that.

The craft, the science, the business of wine: at South Seattle College, all of it is within reach. First-generation students, career changers, working adults following a quiet hunch, this is your way in. Your curiosity is the only credential required.

Two paths, your pace

Wine Production (Enology) is for the makers. You'll learn winemaking from vine to bottle, then spend a full year doing it for real in our commercial teaching winery.

Marketing & Sales of Food & Wine is for the storytellers and connectors. You'll learn to bring wine to market, run a tasting room, and master the language of pairing food and wine.

Both welcome complete newcomers and seasoned professionals alike, and both come at two levels, a Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, so you can go as far as you want to.
